Warning: Spoilers for DC’s Stargirl Season 2 Episode 12.
Stargirl Season 2 Episode 12 starts off at Courtney’s house. She is there with her mom, but also Cindy. Beth and Jenni are at the school looking for the second sign of darkness that the Green lantern ring detected, but all they find is a small, moving, smudge on the ground.
Jenni attacks it with her ring and that is when Beth hears through the goggles that Courtney is back. They rush to her house, but it is clear something it off with Jenni.
Of course Beth is not thrilled to see Cindy in Courtney’s house, but they decide to call a truce until Eclipso is dead. Cindy admits it was dumb of her to bring the Black Diamond back from the island. Courtney says she hates that they need to team up, but knows that they need everyone they can on board to take on Eclipso.

Pat says he will try to get Rick released from jail so he can help too. He goes to the hospital to see his Uncle and explain that Rick is sorry, and knows he made a mistake. Pat tells him that it is hard to explain, but everyone in the town could suffer if he doesn’t forgive Rick. To which he replies go to Hell — written down because he can’t even speak after how badly Rick hurt him.
Pat adds that Rick’s parents asked him to look out for Rick, but instead he did the opposite. Then things get dark and Pat locks the door, closes the blinds, and tells him that he has some bad in him too. Next time we see Pat he is at the police department picking Rick up after his Uncle dropped the charges. He claims to have no idea why, but it was clearly the threatening that did it.

Charles McNider is at the house as well, and Beth and him finally get to meet face to face. He tells her that she can keep the goggles. He also tells Pat that he might not know her that well, but he thinks they are ready to take on Eclipso.
Beth shows Charles what they found at the school. She says it looked like it was alive and he calls it afterbirth, from the pit into the Shadowland that Eclipso had opened. They decide to team up with their goggles in the search for Eclipso.

Mike is on the hunt for Thunderbolt so that he can do his part in helping as well. When he stumbles upon a gigantic cheeseburger and a newspaper bag with the name Jakeem Williams on it, he know must be who he has to find.
When he finds him, Jakeem tell shim he wished his bike could fly, and it is now flying around in the air. Thunderbolt is nowhere to be found and he admits he wished for Chinese food — so chances are Thunderbolt went to China to get it. Mike tells him they need Thunderbolt back now, and explains to Jakeem all about the JSA and Eclipso.
Jakeem is excited when Mike says that Thunderbolt ended up with him because he wished he was in better hands. Mike tells him the things that are good about him. He also says he can keep the pen if he wants to, but that he has to accept the responsibility it comes with and help save the world.

Courtney goes to find Yolanda so that she can explain to her that she is not the first JSA member to kill someone. She tells the whole story and lets Yolanda know she is not alone, and that the first Wildcat made the same mistake she did.
Courtney begs Yolanda to come back and help them, saying they need her bad when it comes to taking down Eclipso. Yolanda says she will never put the costume back on because it is the costume of a murderer — twice now.
Back at her house Yolanda is surprised by Cindy coming into her room from her window. Cindy tells Yolanda that she doesn’t want her to come back to the team. She says that she is working with Courtney to take down Eclipso and they don’t need any weak links bringing them down. This is clearly a ploy to get Yolanda to come back and help. Cindy admits to Yolanda that it was her who texted her photo to everyone in school, not Henry.
Yolanda goes to see Courtney and is very upset that Cindy is working with the JSA. She tells Courtney that she will help, but is only there to protect everyone from Cindy.

When Courtney gets back home, she tells her mother about what she was shown in the Shadowland. That she saw her mom saying she could have been so much more if it wasn’t for her child. Courtney knows this was Eclipso, but asks her if it was hard raising her alone. Barbara says it was, of course, but that Courtney brought so much more to her life than she could have ever hoped for.
Jenni is trying to get some rest, but ends up having nightmares. She sees young Eclipso and he is laughing and haunting her dreams. There is a close up of the Green Lantern ring, and the dark matter is inside of it.
The final few shots of DC’s Stargirl Season 2 Episode 12 show everyone preparing for the big fight against Eclipso. Cindy makes a phone call to an unknown person who she says is the one who wanted her back in Blue Valley. Beth and Chuck come across Eclipso, and she sends a help alert so they all will come help.
Eclipso tells her that is exactly what he wanted. That finding the darkness in Courtney Whitmore will only work if they are all there. Eclipso says that soon he will become their God. In Jenni’s dreams, she she’s Courtney standing over fallen members of the JSA. When she turns her face is taken over by Eclipso and her eyes are red.

About DC’s Stargirl
DC’s STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.
The project focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.
Stargirl Season 2 airs on CW every Tuesday, starting on August 10th.
